NEELSVILLE KIDS MINISTRY

Mission:  To glorify God by being and making disciples of Jesus

Discipleship Process:  Worship God, Grow Spiritually, Go Serve

In Action: Kids ministry can shape the course of a person’s entire life. We know the importance of our role in spiritual discipleship and offer ministry opportunities for children and parents through our Next Generation programs. Read below for information on our classes, special events, and family discipleship in action.

Sunday Classes at 9:30-10:30am (September - June)

Classes for children in kindergarten through fifth grade meet during the school year and are led by dedicated, nurturing and background-checked volunteers. Together, children and leaders dig into Scripture following themes of the Gospel Project curriculum. This ministry points children to the truth in God's Word and to understand their identity in Jesus Christ.  Every Sunday, Neelsville Kids participate in educational activities, thoughtful discussions, and hands-on application that bring the stories and themes of the Bible to life.

Families receive a weekly email with resources to guide discussion, to help children grow in their faith, and to be updated on any church events. To learn more or to connect with us about any questions you may have, contact our children's coordinator Melissa at melissa@neelsville.org.

Childcare

Supervised childcare is available for infants through age 5 on Sunday mornings while parents and older siblings are in their classes (9:30-10:30am). Infants and toddlers through 36 months may remain checked-in for the duration of the worship service (10:45am-12pm). Children 3 years and up must be picked up at 10:30am before the start of the worship service.

*For safety and security, only children who have registered in advance and whose emergency contact information is on file may attend our childcare program. Guests and first-time visitors may register by completing this online form. Feel free to ask a Welcome Team member for assistance!

Worship & Play Zone (during the Worship Service for ages 3 - 2nd grade)

All children are welcome participants in Sunday morning worship, regardless of age or attention span. Wiggles and giggles are a joy to our ears and we hope you feel encouraged to attend together with your whole family. If desired, children’s worship bags provide Bible stories, handouts, and activity sheets for your child to use during the service. Please visit the check-in table in the sanctuary foyer for the worship bags and to register your age-appropriate child for that day’s Childcare or Worship & Play Zone attendance.

Children who are *signed in for Worship & Play Zone may exit the church at the designated time for a Bible lesson from The Gospel Project which aligns with the Sunday School lesson for that day. Leaders will escort children to the classroom and back to the sanctuary on Communion Sundays. On Sundays when Communion is not being served, the parent/guardian must pick up their child(ren) from the classroom in a timely manner at the conclusion of worship service. You are encouraged to meet and mingle with the whole church family upstairs in our Welcome Center at the end of service.

Family Ministry

We highly value walking alongside parents and families to help raise children who love Jesus, to build long-lasting relationships across generations, and to support parents/guardians in their spiritual growth too.  Throughout the year, we have parenting specific workshops, Bible studies, and book clubs, as well as fun, community-building events for the whole family.  We hope Neelsville Presbyterian Church will be a place where you can all feel loved, valued and supported.
